West Norfolk Schools success across the autumn term Virtual School Games

Congratulations go out to all of the West Norfolk Secondary and Primary schools who got involved with the Norfolk School Games Virtual competitions that ran throughout the Autumn term.

The virtual competition framework was designed to replace any face-to-face Sports competitions that should have run between school’s last term.

The target sports for Secondary schools were Cross Country, Sportshall Athletics and Dance while for Primaries it was Cross Country, Sportshall Athletics, Trigolf and Gymnastics.

All had challenge activities where schools collated results and uploaded to the Norfolk School Games website.

The most impressive feedback has been that all students within schools had the opportunity to represent their school as results were based on an average class score.

Across the term 6186 students from West Norfolk took part.

The percentage of entries across the County for each activity from West Norfolk schools were:

Primary Sportshall Athletics – 38%

Secondary Sportshall Athletics – 36%

Primary Cross Country – 36%

Secondary Cross Country – 37%

Primary Trigolf – 32%

Primary Gymnastics – 69%

This represents an outstanding engagement from our schools when considering that there are seven other SSP’s across Norfolk.
