Congratulations to the 180 Year 3/4 students who took part in the SSP Quicksticks Festival hosted at Pelicans HC last week.

30 School teams took part in either the Cup Competition or the non scoring Fun Festival and a great day of Hockey was had by all.

Schools competing for the Cup were Glebe House, South Wootton Junior, Gayton, Terrington St Clements, Dersingham, St Marthas, Runners up St Germans and overall winners Sandringham & West Newton.

All teams nominated their Player of the tournament and all players agreed that they had improved their hockey skills, gameplay and their knowledge of the rules.

Schools taking part in the Fun Festival were West Lynn, Glebe house, Holly Meadows, Riverside (Hilgay and Ten Mile bank), Sandringham, Gayton, Terrington, Nelson, North Wootton, St Marthas, Clenchwarton, Ashwicken, St Germans, Magdalen, Heacham Junior and Snettisham.

A massive thank you goes to Pelicans HC for hosting the event and to the team of Sports Leaders from the club who umpired and coached the games all day to a very high standard.

The best outcome from the day was the number of players who then came to Pelicans junior training on the Sat morning having been inspired to play from the festival on the Friday.
