SSP Girls Football – Year 3/4 and Year 5/6

Well done to the 26 school teams who competed in the SSP Girls Football tournament hosted at Lynnsport with the support of Kings Lynn Community Football, Grant Cotton and a team of referees from the College of West Anglia.

The Year 3/4 event was contested between – Holly meadows, Gaywood, West Lynn, Greyfriars, Terrington St Clements, Heacham Junior, South Wootton Junior, Walpole Cross Keys, Ashwicken, St Marthas, Docking and Clenchwarton.

Following round robin matches the semi finals saw Docking beat West Lynn and Terrington beat South Wootton.

The final proved to be a very close game with the final score 1-1, it then went to 2 mins Golden goal and then ultimately Penalties which Terrington just edged 3-2.

Both Docking and Terrington now progress to the Norfolk School Games finals on Friday 7th March at Goals Football centre where they will compete against the other 7 Sports Partnerships.

The 5/6 event was contested by – Sandringham, Gayton, West Lynn, Dersingham, Hillcrest, South Wootton Junior, Heacham Junior, Clenchwarton, Gaywood, Holly Meadows, Greyfriars, Walpole Cross Keys, St Marthas and Fairstead.

In the semi finals South Wootton beat Dersingham and St Marthas beat Gaywood which set up a repeat final from last year.

St Marthas were crowned champions and both finalists now progress to the County finals as the Year 3/4’s – we wish all 4 teams the best of luck.
